2009 marks the 30th anniversary of The Goal Line Stand and the incorporation of New Life Art. In celebration of these two special occasions, we are offering this unique commemorative Print/Poem ensemble. This ready-to-hang collectible features an 8”x 10” fine art print of The Goal Line Stand, signed and numbered by artist Daniel A. Moore, a printing of “The BAMA Way” poem by Todd Bates, a gold-embossed title on the matting and a gold-embossed Collegiate Classic medallion design. Each ensemble is also accompanied by a Certificate of Limited Edition. The edition will be strictly limited to 950 units plus 95 Artist’’s Proofs.
This commemorative ensemble is offered framed only. The exquisite framing is of conservation caliber and is available in two color combinations. The outside dimensions of the frame are approximately 25” x 19.5”. Our special pricing for this great Daniel A. Moore and Todd Bates collectible is only $125 each for the Regular Edition and $195 each for the Artist’s Proof Edition.
ABOUT THE PRINT
Daniel Moore’s seminal masterwork, The Goal Line Stand, has recently been named by Sports Illustrated magazine as “Alabama’s most beloved painting.” This painting portrays a scene from the 1979 Sugar Bowl, featuring Alabama's game-winning defensive stand against Penn State to capture the 1978 Collegiate Football National Championship. In part, the artist’s rigid composition for the painting was inspired by the great Iwo Jima Statue in Arlington, Virginia, which helps to symbolize the heroic nature of the stand. Through this and other artistic elements, the artist has conveyed positive life messages as well as the defensive football philosophy of legendary Coach Paul W. “Bear” Bryant through his single image of The Goal Line Stand.
ABOUT THE POEM
Tradition lives forever, legends never die, and heroes will always be remembered! The great display of teamwork and sacrifice by the 1978 National Champion Crimson Tide squad is also beautifully summed up in the “The BAMA Way." This classic poetry piece was written to be the ongoing motivating mantra for the Tide by former Alabama permanent team captain Todd Bates. “I will give my team the best of me, making sure that strong man is standing next to me, tradition says that greatness is our destiny, but it takes hard work to rebuild a legacy."
