2009 SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME - 2009 SEC Champions
Alabama 32 | Florida 13
On December 5, 2009 the Alabama Crimson Tide battled the Florida Gators at the Georgia Dome for the SEC Championship title. Just before the start of the game, quarterback Greg McElroy huddled up his teammates and commanded them, “Let’s go be champions, boys!” And Champions they became. Greg McElroy (#12) had a great game — one major play in particular had him teetering on one leg down the sideline to stay in bounds as he ran the ball for a first down. Bama dominated the Gators, 32-13. This SEC Championship game marked the first time that 2 undefeated teams, and Number 1 and Number 2 teams played each other in this competition.
