The two blocked Alabama punts by Auburn’s defense was largely credited for this win, along with “Shug” Jordan’s coaching staff.  Assistant head coach Paul Davis, who led the defense, said of the two blocked kicks that won the game, “It was the same punt-block we have used all year, we just had a little more desire to go get it.” —Clyde Bolton, The Birmingham News.  The fourth quarter was when the Tigers took it from the Tide.

Greg Gantt’s (#8) punt is blocked by Auburn’s Bill Newton (#56).  David Langner (#28) grabs the ball and scores a TD for the Tigers.
