Alabama 38 | Auburn 7

The year 1976 marked the fourth year in a row for the Tide to dominate the Tigers and Coach Bryant’s fourteenth win against Auburn out of nineteen games.  Bama had a particularly tough defense which consisted of linebacker Barry Krauss, tackle Charlie Hannah, cornerback Mike Tucker and middle guard Gus White.  Tucker had a tremendous game by intercepting the ball two times and knocking down four Auburn passes.  Halfback Tony Nathan was also a key player in the game, breaking tackles and scoring touchdowns.  It was Auburn’s excellent kicking game that kept Bama from scoring more points on them.  The Tigers forced multiple turnovers on Bama, but failed to score as a result.

Crimson Tide Defensive lineman Bob Baumhower (#91) brings down Auburn running back Joe Cribbs (#20).
